In 2012 the famous “Conversations with Comrade Laura in the Bases of the Vizcatan Mountains” was recorded, which was later published in 2017. The interview was part of a larger study, presented by Comrade Laura, called Vizcatan: The Difficult but Glorious Road of the Revolution. We are proud to finally publish the complete study—containing newly released photographs—including Comrade Laura’s preceding remarks, her interview, and a manifesto of prisoners of war from the shining trenches of combat. Comrade Laura’s Vizcatan study marks an important milestone in the development of the General Reorganization of the Party in the midst of the People’s War in Peru, and in particular the struggle of Comrade Laura and the entire left to impose itself in the Main Regional Committee. This book profoundly demonstrates that the People’s War in Peru is undefeated and ongoing. Comrade Laura affirms: “The blood poured out by our heroes will not be in vain, the armed revolution is already bearing fruit, history will put in its page the price the revolution demands, and the life of a communist belongs entirely to the Party. The hour of triumph is not far away, let us transform our tears and pain into a burning cry of war, since the oppressors cannot boast of their perpetuation on the face of the earth. Their time has arrived, and we call for this heroic feat as only with the rifle can the world be transformed.”
