This work, by the Communist Party of Brazil (Red Fraction), is a powerful and detailed work that examines the historic Seventh Congress of the Communist International and the theory of the united front that was developed by Comrades Dimitrov and Stalin. This work clearly traces the development of the problem of the construction of the united front and its role in the revolution from Lenin, through Comrades Dimitrov and Stalin, to Chairman Mao’s development of the united front. Consequently, it dispels many falsehoods and misunderstandings within the International Communist Movement surrounding such theoretical developments of the Seventh Congress such as the People’s Front and People’s Democracy. It clearly shows that Chairman Mao’s qualitative development of the theory of the united front is firmly based upon the theoretical developments on this question made by Comrades Dimitrov and Stalin.
