We are proud to present the biography of Steve Katovis, a long-forgotten piece of revolutionary labor history. Katovis, an "obscure market clerk," was born into a peasant family in Greece in 1890. He later immigrated to the U.S. in 1913 and immediately joined the working-class movement. He was one of the founding members of the Communist Party USA and devoted his whole life to building the Party and organizing the working-class for revolution. He was martyred on a Bronx picket line in 1930. His life remains a shining example of tireless dedication to the working-class and its Communist Party.
