This short work gives a broad overview of the factional strife in the Communist Party USA at the beginning of what is known as the “third period,” when the capitalist system was entering a new general crisis and the working-class was coming to reject the reformist leadership in the labor movement while asserting itself through fierce battles against Capital. Detailed in this work are the efforts of the Comintern to assist in rectifying the factionalism in the CPUSA, and to correct the right and “left” deviations within the Central Committee in order to prepare the Party to lead the great class battles that were ahead. This work was a product of the Sixth World Congress of the Communist International, and as such, contains crucial information of a historical and political interest.
